Customer Testimonials

This is the second time I have brought a vehicle to Cap A Radiator and it is the second time I have been extremely happy with the results. The first time they installed the original factory air conditioning in my 1964 Ford Galaxie and did an outstanding job. Just last week they installed power steering in my 1967 Ford F100 pickup. The job was an adventure since the kit that is sold for the conversion did not fit as it was supposed to. Many custom modifications were needed that required a lot of time and engineering. The job is perfect and I can finally enjoy driving it. (and so can my daughter) Many thanks to Bill and his team.

I had my 69 Ford Ranchero towed 30 miles to have Bill Carberry and his crew work on the car. He was also in the middle of moving to a larger shop and was still able to address a broken timing chain and many other issues in a timely fashion. Joe, the shop manager, was great at keeping me informed about the status of repairs. I'll be returning for a new radiator and repair to my AC system. I would highly recommend them without hesitation for all types of work to your classic car. A trustworthy, honest shop!

Dear Classic Heaters,

The purpose of this letter is to praise your company on your efforts to rebuild the heater core for my '58 Chevy Bel Air.

As you might imagine, it was not easy for me to send off a relatively critical part for my car - however my trust in your company was not misplaced.  You did an outstanding job of communication, you turned it around in about a week, and I am exceedingly pleased with the work you did:

My Heater core is as good as new, perhaps even better than new.

I would heartily recommend any vehicle owner who needs to have his heater core repaired to seek your company out, and I am more than happy to field any requests for recommendations on your behalf.

Thank you to Bill and the crew at Cap-A-Radiator. I brought my 69 Skylark in for a number of issues, including a/c overhaul, radiator and timing chain cover leak. I was planning a long trip in my 50 year old car and wanted to make sure I arrived and returned safely. Cap-A-Radiator did a thorough assessment of the condition of my car. They did a great job for a fair price and found a few other issues that needed to be addressed. I liked the fact that before doing any work Bill had me stop by the shop, showed me the problems and discussed various alternatives for addressing the problems. I feel comfortable recommending Bill and Cap-A-Radiator for work on your classic car, including A/C, Radiator, and General Mechanical issues.

Brought my 1969 Chevelle SS to Cap A Radiator to have Vintage A/C, New dashboard and cooling system installed. Excellent workmanship on everything and never had to return to "fix' any errors. Very professional the way they do things and always kept me informed of the progress. Highly recommended.

This shop came highly recommended. I needed a new engine installed in my 1966 Galaxie. When finished, the car was tuned correctly and all replaced parts returned. Later I came back for front disc brake upgrade, plus new springs and shock. The car handles much better, stops shorter with no fade and less effort. Bill and crew could not have done a better job.

I brought my 1962 Thunderbird there because these old cars need special attention and know how. They did a great job helping resolve some suspension issues and installed a front windshield which I could not find a glass shop to tackle the job. Very happy with all their work and would recommend to anyone needing a step above your normal repair shop

I was in the initial stage of having my 1960 Bel Air restored at another shop. In order to move things along, I brought my radiator to Bill's shop to have it recored. That's when I discovered that Cap-A-Radiator did full blown restorations. I immediately decided to have my car trailered to Bill's shop. The shop performed a huge list of tasks: an engine replacement, with all of necessary additional work; installation of a Vintage A/C system; front end work; transmission replacement; installation of a dual exhaust system; upgrades to the steering including the installation of power boost for the steering; replacement of instrument gauges. The list goes on. We ran into a problem with the alignment. Bill and his staff persisted until the problem was solved. A hearty endorsement from me.

I've owned my own shop and have done all my own work up until last year. I wanted Vintage air in my 69 Camaro. Vintage Air gave me a list of authorized dealers. Bill was one. I visited his shop. It had a mom and pop hot rod feel. His manager Joe was professional and answered many questions on the phone before the visit. While there I noticed signs in Bills store of personal statements made. I call it free speech. Everyone is free to leave if they choose. Weather I agree with them or not didn't make up my mind on why I was thinking of getting my car worked on there. I wanted to speak to him and his workers in detail about the details on the possible job he would perform. I was getting major work done. An engine swap BBC to SBC, Vintage air, serpentine belt system, dash carrier, console gauges, dash pad, emergency brake cable, smoothed firewall, MSD box and other things. We set a date and I was in no rush for the car. It was done in a timely matter considering nothing on a classic goes smooth. If you think it does stop wishing TV and try it. I've had one issue with a braided line and a faulty part provided by vintage air. Bill fixed the Vintage air block and ran down the a/c line issue. He stood by his work so with that being said I'd recommend Bill to anyone who knows what it takes to do this kind of work. If you have a show car make an appointment so the car is always inside like I did. Bill will be installing my Fitech system soon.

Want to take a moment to say Thank You to Bill at Cap-A Radiator for all the effort and excellent job completely re-doing my radiator on my 1979 L82 Corvette.  The car was sent to ZIP's Corvette in Richmond VA for some work (1 item being, the Original radiator was leaking) ZIP's informed me, that they "do not have the same radiator to replace it. However, can replace it with an Aluminum one Made in China"  NOPE !  I do not live on Long Island anymore. However, know of Cap A Radiator. I contacted Bill via phone and No Problem. He took control and had ZIP's Ship the Old radiator to him. He Re-cored, rebuilt and made it brand new again.  Then, shipped it back to ZIP's.  It looks beautiful and I am so happy in knowing that the car is still kept as original as possible. Extremely Honest, Informative and reputable throughout the whole process. He sent me very informative reads on the complexities of the radiator and the choices I needed to make in rebuilding it.  Bill spent time on the phone with me explaining the items in detail and why each is there and why my choices in the process mattered.  Couldn't have asked for a better experience. Great company that still knows how to do this kind of work.
